As Managing Director of the Neil Mansell Group of companies, Neil takes a very active role in the operational and administrative areas of his business. His personalized approach to business allows him to divide his time between the Group's Toowoomba based Head Office, Sunshine coast operations and Adelaide, Jackson and Moomba Depots. The success of the Corporations growth has primarily evolved from Neil's commercial philosophy of diversification and adaptability. A typical example of this is the Mansell designed, engineered and fabricated reinforced roll trailers for the purpose of winching and transporting equipment in the isolated desert and oilfield tracks.

As part of the Mansell diversification programme, in 1989 a ready mixed concrete business then known as Les Hall Pty Ltd was purchased by the group and renamed Neil Mansell Concrete Pty Ltd. It is now the largest independent concrete batching business on the Sunshine coast having grown from a staffing level of 30 people then, to its present level of 90. The total batching spectrum encompasses three plants situated at Maroochydore, Kawana and Narangba. As well the company owns and operates Mobile Batching Plants which accommodates larger remote projects unable to be serviced by existing permanent plants. In 1991, to further compliment the Maroochydore activities, Neil Mansell Landscape Supplies was established. This entity has specialised in the supply and delivery of bulk landscape materials to a large client base throughout the Sunshine coast. An integral part of the concrete operations are sand dredging facilities in the coast Hinterland and a blue metal quarry at Parklands, north of Nambour. Parklands Blue Metal Pty Ltd is a subsidiary company of Neil Mansell concrete Pty Ltd. It was purchased in 1992 and encompasses the Parklands based blue metal quarry which has been operational since 1953. This entity has also recently purchased a 50% interest in Calcite Resources Pty Ltd which owns a substantial calcite deposit within close proximity to the major mineral handling Port of Gladstone.

Other operations within the Mansell Group include Transport Welding Engineering, a steel fabrication business specializing in transport body building and a purpose built welding Shop incorporating overhead cranes for fabrication of heavy duty specialised engineering equipment. Bromac panel and Paint, a truck repair business is a further division of Neil Mansell Transport Pty Ltd and includes chassis straightening and truck spray booth facilities. The Group also has a Crane Division which utilizes 10 mobile cranes from 10 tonne to 90 tonne capacity.

In the normal course of business, Neil Mansell Transport Pty Ltd operates four aircraft. These are primarily used to ferry men and equipment to and from the oilfields in the Cooper and Surat basins, and other remote resource explorations projects. Tasks and contracts performed by the Mansell Group involve the preparation of drilling sites with earthmoving equipment, roadworks to the sites and the dismantling, transportation and erection of drilling rigs and other equipment. Supporting services include plant hire, haulage of water, crude oil drill pipes and general and frozen goods.
