Parkland's Quarry History
In 1992, the quarry was flooded just prior to it joining the Neil Mansell Group.
As recently as March 2006, the
Parklands Quarry has been included in the local Council and State plannings. An extract from the
Minutes - Ordinary Meeting held for the Council of chambers at the corner of Currie and Bury Sreets, Nambour is presented thus:

Policy (SPP) Guideline - Protection of Extractive Resources both identify a 500-metre wide
Extractive Resources Buffer (exclusion zone) between hard rock quarries and incompatible
development...
